Magiel consists of two levels: a lively ground floor with a centrally located kitchen and an intimate upper floor. Overlooking the Motława River and the greenery of chestnut trees, you can enjoy dishes based on fresh, seasonal, mainly local products. The Chef draws inspiration for you from numerous travels, but the foundation is always the flavors of home.

I have been living with cooking and gastronomy for over 25 years. My culinary journey began in Gdańsk, but it was nearly five years spent in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna that shaped my perspective on product, taste, and respect for tradition. Today, as Executive Chef of the Grano Hotels chain and head chef of the Gdańsk Restaurant Magiel, I combine local, historical flavors of our region with modern techniques and a Mediterranean touch.

I shared my passion for old Gdańsk cuisine in the book "Authentic Flavors of Gdańsk," of which I am a co-author. I am also immensely proud that the restaurant I run is recognized in the Poland 100 Best Restaurants poll.

However, my passion is most fully expressed during the tasting dinners I regularly organize. I love to challenge myself, so these evenings often feature advanced food pairing – I design original menus with unique flavor profiles of premium alcohols in mind, such as the prestigious whiskies The Macallan or Glenfiddich, proving that food and exceptional drinks can form an inseparable whole.

My name is Marcin Buniek and as a pastry chef, I have been turning my passion for sweets into a craft that I share with the residents of the Tri-City and guests from all over Poland for years.

On a daily basis, I lead the team as the Pastry Chef at the Magiel Restaurant in Gdańsk, part of the Grano Hotels network. It is here, on Toruńska Street, that my original desserts, cakes, and special occasion cakes are created. Previously, I refined my skills and gained valuable experience in well-known brands for many years.

Sweets for me are not just work, but above all a way to bring smiles and co-create your most important memories – from Sunday coffee gatherings to weddings and anniversaries.
