The Bird Paradise Reserve is a protected area located on Sobieszewska Island in Gdańsk. The reserve covers an area of 198 hectares and includes a complex of lakes, marshes, forests, and meadows. Over 200 bird species are found in the reserve, of which 45 species nest permanently. During spring and autumn migrations, over 100,000 birds pass through the reserve. The reserve features a nature and educational trail that is 6 km long. The trail is equipped with information boards about the surrounding nature. The Bird Paradise Reserve is a popular spot for recreation and birdwatching. It is also an important area for biodiversity conservation.
Rezerwat Mewia Łacha is a protected area located on the Pomeranian Coast, near the mouth of the Vistula River. The reserve covers an area of 150 ha and includes dunes, sandy shoals, bays, and channels. It boasts rich flora and fauna, including over 100 species of birds. One of the most important elements of the reserve is the colony of gray seals. This is the only natural colony of seals in Poland. The seals number around 100 individuals and consist of both males and females. Mewia Łacha Reserve is a popular spot for recreation and bird watching. It is also an important area for biodiversity conservation.
The beach in Sobieszewo is one of the most beautiful beaches in Gdańsk. It is located on Sobieszewo Island, near the mouth of the Vistula River. The beach is about 11 kilometers long and approximately 50 meters wide. The sand is soft and white, and the water is clean and clear. The beach in Sobieszewo is a popular place for relaxation and recreation. You can swim, sunbathe, walk, ride a bike, or engage in other sports here. Crooked Forest in Sobieszewo is a small fragment of a forest where ordinary pines grow in a characteristic bent shape. The Crooked Forest is located in Sobieszewo, between entrances to the beach no. 17 and 18, about 100 m from the sea. This area was named for the over 50 deformed ordinary pines growing in this place.
The observation tower in Orle is a 30-meter high water tower that was opened in 2015. It is located near the Orle Hotel, at an altitude of 45 m above sea level, making it the highest viewpoint on Sobieszewska Island. At the top of the tower, there is a viewpoint terrace that offers a breathtaking panorama of the Gdańsk Bay. The observation tower is open to visitors from spring to autumn. Admission is free.
Kamienna Grobla at the mouth of the Śmiała Vistula is a communication embankment separating the Śmiała Vistula from Ptasi Raj Lake. It was built between 1887 and 1888 to facilitate the river's estuary. The embankment is approximately 2.5 kilometers long and about 10 meters high. It is constructed of stones and concrete. At its top, there is a road leading to the village of Orle. The embankment is a popular place for recreation and bird watching. From the embankment, one can admire the beauty of the Śmiała Vistula estuary and Gdańsk Bay. Numerous bird species nesting in the area can also be seen.
