Karpacz is a town first mentioned in the 15th century, when gold prospectors appeared here by the Dziki Potok stream, along with mineral seekers, lumberjacks, herbalists and laboratory workers. Karpacz was home to Europe’s only guild of herbalists, who could create remedies and heal naturally more effectively than doctors. In the 19th and 20th centuries, toboggan runs and ski jumps were built here, and the town gained its own railway connection. During the lantern walk, we will visit, among other places, the dam, a waterfall and an old toboggan run. The tour takes place at night or late in the evening. Each participant will receive an oil lantern, making the evening even more unforgettable. A Sudetes Guide will tell legends and stories connected with the town and the peaks visible from the viewpoint we will also visit. If participants try hard, they may find several intricately hidden treasures in the nooks and crannies of the Mountain Spirit’s town.
